There are charts I made to help me learn how to play the solo dungeon crawler Ker Nethalas. The rules in this game are spread throughout the book in a way that makes it hard to follow. You really need to read the book cover to cover multiple times to piece it all together.
I prefer to cram everything into single-page flow charts for reference. There are a number of similar flow charts but none had the detail or flow that I personally prefer.
These charts are accurate through Vaelorian Codex 2 and the Book of Masteries (although the optional rules should be easy to ignore if you’re playing vanilla). I haven’t played with the rules of Vaelorian Codex 3 yet.
When I enter a new room, I check each lock and note the difficulty on my map all at once. When starting, begin at the “Check Locks [d20]” square.
This is the full gameplay aid booklet I use with all the most useful charts reproduced. Unfortunately some of Vaelorian Codex charts are proprietary, so you’ll have to fill those out yourself.
