AI slop is invading the media space on different levels. More and more I’m seeing real life people on Youtube reading obviously LLM-generated scripts.
I like personal finance videos. I’ll put on some no-name CFP® channel to hear them talk about Roth conversions or whatever and their script is full of LLMisms like
“Here’s the key takeaway”
“This is the critical detail that most people miss”
“It’s not one strategy, it’s three”
It’s a verbal em dash. ChatGPT loves marking a random step as critical or an insight as a secret that most people overlook. It loves grouping things in threes. It loves saying “Not X, but Y”. Sometimes I can’t even pinpoint the exact structural reason but I’ll hear and line and roll my eyes into the back of my skull because something about it is painfully AI.
What is the point of your credentials if you just get your information from ChatGPT?
Today in 2026 I can block the channel and move on. At some point in the near future, I won’t be able to tell, or I’ll at least have enough doubt not to be sure. Based on comments, the vast majority of people already can’t tell they’re listening to LLM output.
Whoever controls the weights will soon control information and opinion even when it seems like it’s coming from a real person.
Anyway, I have no solutions. I’m still in my ‘everything will just get worse forever now’ era.
